John Thurrott is Macklowe’s Chief Financial Officer. His responsibilities include overseeing the firm’s financial side of the operations including accounting, taxes, balance sheet-related activities and banking relationships.

With over twenty five years of real estate experience, Mr. Thurrott was the Controller and CFO to notable NYC based real estate firms including JEMB Realty Corp, United States Realty & Investment Corp. and Broad Street Development.

During these 25 years, Mr. Thurrott has been extensively involved in all aspects of acquiring, owning, operating and disposing of many portfolios of real estate properties. These portfolios invested in properties located throughout the United States and Canada and contained all types of real estate properties including Commercial, Residential, Industrial, Hotels and Retail.

Mr. Thurrott holds a Master’s of Science in Finance from the New York University’s Schack Institute of Real Estate.
